Head of the Buenos Aires Government, Jorge Macri, met today in Madrid with the leader of the People's Party, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo, strengthening ties within the framework of his official tour of the Spanish capital. During the meeting, the City Mayor strengthened ties with the Galician leader and highlighted the ideological core of affinities between the PRO and the center-right party, which is the main opposition force in Spain. The topics of conversation revolved around 'the international political and economic context, the challenges of large cities, and opportunities to strengthen ties between Buenos Aires and Spain, particularly in matters of institutional cooperation, urban development, and international projection,' indicated the Buenos Aires Government in a communiqué accessed by the Argentine News Agency. This meeting with Feijóo is part of the Head of Government's intention to position Buenos Aires on the Ibero-American map, strengthen its international projection, and promote opportunities for bilateral cooperation. Earlier, Jorge Macri had participated in a breakfast of the Libertad Foundation, alongside entrepreneurs, intellectuals, and political leaders, accompanied by the Chief of Cabinet, Gabriel Sánchez Zinny. During that event, 'views were exchanged on the regional scenario and the importance of promoting investment, innovation, and productive development.' Last Tuesday, Jorge Macri had met with the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the next day shared a conversation panel with the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, within an activity of the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities (UCCI) at the International Tourism Fair. 'Buenos Aires continues to strengthen its international linkage strategy, promoting political, economic, and academic alliances that contribute to the development of the City and its positioning in the main global spaces,' concluded the City's communiqué.
